We will gather Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Main Church Hall, beginning Feb. 21 and continuing through April 11. Fasting and Abstinence Guidelines
Catholics ages 18 to 59 years old are asked to observe the law of fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
- One full meal may be eaten.
- Two smaller meals are allowed, provided they do not equal another full meal when combined.
- No eating between meals.
- Drinks, including milk and juice, are permitted.
Abstinence
Catholics age 14 and older will abstain from meat. No meat may be eaten on days of abstinence including Ash Wednesday, all Fridays of Lent, and Good Friday.
Special Considerations
If a person’s health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the obligation to fast or abstain does not apply. In such cases, other suitable forms of self-denial are encouraged.
Thank you for your faithful observance of these Lenten practices.
